New doctoral students take part in the SUBS Programme (Stockholm Uppsala Business Studies), compulsory for the PhD students, which is comprised of four courses of 7.5 credits each concentrated to the first (autumn) semester. Two of the SUBS courses will be given in Uppsala and two at Stockholm School of Economics. PhD candidates are often involved in teaching or administration up to 20% of their time, so it may take up to 5 years to complete the PhD programme.
